8/10/09 10:50 pm - Monday, 10 August 1980After a week I am slowly getting used to answer to 'Mrs Rookwood.' First, I want to thank once more everyone who attended our wedding, as we were honoured to share this unique moment with you, in all its simplicity. Provence was gorgeous, as always, and Augustus and I spent a wonderful week in our villa there. An unfortunate event forced us to replace our resident Squib servant and to call back to us one of the house elves we had left behind to unpack my belongings and prepare Rookwood Manor for our return. Thankfully the remaining house elves were able to take care of it and everything was ready when we arrived last night. We didn't check our journals all week and it seems as though much has happened while we were gone. A week is far too short, but it is all we could afford in this time of war, and so I was back at the Ministry this morning. It was a pleasure to be welcomed with news of two promotions in the DMLE. My congratulations to Myron Zeller, our new Head Hitwizard, and to Geoffrey Nott, our new Deputy Head Hitwizard. If the DMLE reshuffling was a major undertaking, it succeeded in renewing our department and rewarding its most deserving members. 6/23/09 04:29 pm - Tuesday, 23 June 1980Thank you very much to everyone who's congratulated Augustus and I on our engagement. Your warm wishes and your gifts have been truly appreciated. We had been so discreet until now that I know it came as a surprise to most people, and I must admit that I am glad that it is public and official now. I certainly look forward to sharing lunch with Augustus at the Ministry's cafeteria and all those little things we didn't indulge in before. [Augustus] My cousin Rodolphus has invited us for dinner and to the opera Merlin Ambrosius on Saturday evening, to celebrate. Can I give him a positive answer from both of us, or are you busy that night? |

5/27/09 05:42 pm - Wednesday, 27 May 1980( Private ) While Hortense Clay's positions were at odds with mines, I could only admire her tenacity and passion. I'm shocked and saddened by her sudden death, and I'd like to offer my sympathy to her family and to her friends of the SPMW. ( Aurors & Amelia, minus Moody ) |

5/9/09 08:05 pm - Saturday, 9 May 1980 (early morning, before heading to work)Days have passed but the reality of Wednesday night's horrors haven't changed or subdued into something easier to process. I didn't have much time to pick up my journal since then, the investigation taking up all my time. I'm exhausted but it's worth it, as anything we can find will help us fight back. Working on sites, among such death and destruction, is a permanent reminder of how vital it is that we win this war. We can't fail, the price is undeniably too high. I wish I knew better words than 'my condoleances', but I'm afraid I don't and so they are all I can offer to any ( Private ) [OOC: Early morning so it takes place before this.] |
